Avalanche barriers in Siglufjordur
The work consisted of five barriers and one embankment to direction of snow avalanche. There were a total length of barriers and embankments of 1920 meters and the amount material was 720,000 m³ .
There was also placed a reinforced-earth system of 10,400 m². The work began in 2003 and was completed in 2007. The total volume was 8.5 million $. The work was carried out for Fjallabyggd-municipality and the volume was 6 million $.
